About the Teleki Castle:

The Teleki Castle was designed in a „U” form and has 52 rooms and 365 windows, each symbolizing the days of the year. The castle is one of the most representative works made in the Transylvanian baroque style and it is surrounded by an impressive arboretum park with exotic tree species. The Teleki Castle was for many centuries a cultural center, where important figures, intellectuals, and artists of the day met and exchanged ideas.

The members of the Teleki Family were important book lovers, Samuel Teleki being the founder of the first public library from Transylvania, nowadays the Telekiana Library from Tirgu Mures. His son, László Teleki founded the library within the castle and, his nephew, József Teleki, continued to collect valuable books throughout his lifetime.
